Instamonials – when done right – are an amazing way to get your customers talking about you online, and sharing with their friends. However, not all Instamonials are created equal. Here are a few key tips for creating memorable – and shareable – Instamonials.
- Choose your photos wisely
People may like to read reviews, but they share photos. Including compelling images can be the difference between an Instamonial that remains stale and one that goes ‘viral’. Before adding photos, ask yourself, “Would my customer want to share this with their friends?”

This is an extension of the last point – but the importance of images can’t be stated enough (remember, people are 2.5x more likely to share a photo than a comment alone). People like to help people – Instamonials are a great way that your customer can “give back” and thank you for the work you’ve done. Before sending your request for an Instamonial review, be sure to mention it to your customer and be sure to tell them what a difference your Instamonial reviews make to your business – especially when they get shared on Facebook, Twitter, Email and LinkedIn!
- Add captions to your photos
Captions can make a big difference and just take a few seconds to complete. For each photo you add, include a quick sentence describing why the photo is of interest – including general locations, products used, and key services provided help people to better understand what your business offers, while giving you a better chance of turning up in search engines as well!
